Whirlwind

...that sums up the past week nicely.

I am now less than five weeks out from my competition...

Excuse my make-up-less morning face!
and less than one week away from Fall classes, if I can figure out how to pay this bill O_O...

Yeah I'll get right on that! One sec, let me just cut down my money tree.

My FAFSA is screwed up just 4 days away from the deadline, so many tears were shed in the financial aid office (which, if you're wondering, is just as embarrassing as you would expect) and possessions are now being sacrificed to the tuition gods. (If you've noticed that I've been a little absent from your comment sections, friends, it's because I'm stressed. And trying to convince people to buy my dog-eared paperbacks on Craigslist. Sorry!)

Physically, things have been progressing nicely for me and Max. It's fun to be prepping together - we talk about cravings and the weekly changes in our body and lack of glycogen during workouts. His results are coming along so quickly that he's a great motivator for me when I want to quit cardio early! :)

I'm really excited to see the changes this next week will bring. It's fun to watch my body change every week in posing class...even if posing class itself sucks. (It's way harder than you'd think - even bikini!)

It's unbelievable how much time is flying! It always seems to in the summer, no matter where you are or what you're doing. Or maybe it's nerves for the competition? Or paying-for-school-stress? How is your summer passing? Fast, slow, normal? =)

  2. You look so amazing, as always!! Look at your teeny little waist, I can't believe how close you are already! And I feel you on the whirlwind bit... my summer flew by in an instant, and now I'm scrambling to get ready for my busiest season at work, which starts 1 week from tomorrow! Ahh!! No wonder my blog has been struggling lately :)

    1. I seriously cannot believe summer is basically over. I mean, it's always summer here, but I feel like I missed the whole season!

  3. What a difference in your waist in just a week!

Tuition fees are insane...I spent a long time last week on a fitness scholarship and I am *so* glad I did because without it, there is no way I could have afforded the course. Same goes for the PhD - I wish the UK and US would make a good education more accessible without havng to jump through hoops for it :/

    1. Thank you Jess! =)

Ugh - call me a socialist but I 100% believe in free higher education for everyone. I don't see how state-funded education could possibly hurt anyone - all I can see is benefit!

  5. Please don't be embarrassed, I have cried in the financial aid office many times, and I am not one to cry easily! I have cried over my student loan payments, too! Lol. Your transformation is coming along great, and posing is no joke. Conditioning is only a part of it, and you can ruin amazing conditioning with horrible posing. I always know I had a great posing session when my back is screaming for me to stop! :)

    1. I don't want to say I'm GLAD I'm not the only one.... but I kind of am. =) haha!

You are right about the back thing! I can tell I did well if my hips and lower back are killing me the next day!

  6. I have cried in numerous public places when excessive amounts of money has been asked of me. At an airport check-in when my luggage was 20kilos overweight I blubbed like a baby. It didn't help :-) I'm all for free education too. We have a pretty generous system over here that gives grants out to students who earn less than a certain amount. It's funded my degree and masters. Your body looks amazing! I'm sure it's great to have Max in competition mode too - keeping each other in check. Are you looking forward to the crazy spray tan?? :-)

    1. I wish our educational system was more like that. Of course I guess there are hiccups in funding & disbursement even then, right?

  9. Wow! It's been a few weeks since I've caught up on my blog reading so I can see a huge difference in your body from the last time I checked (although you looked fantastic then, too). Keep it up, your hard work is obviously paying off :)

  11. :( Sorry you're so stressed! I can't believe how frustrating, and scary, it all must be. I can't believe you're staying on top of everything diet- and training-wise as well. You are amazing <3

  13. Loans suck but they are a necessary evil! Kinda ironic how if you want to succeed you have to pay a high price for it! I cry every time I have to send out a payment that ='s to the amount of many peoples house payments. Gonna be paying on ours for the next 20 yrs! Oh well having the education has been a great blessing in our life.
You are looking awesome! I look forward to seeing your continued progression. Wishing you the best of luck with all.

  16. I have shed tears in the financial aid office. I was too young to get a loan without my parents co-signing (because they seemed to be claiming me even though I was on my own) and could not get anyone to co-sign. And no free money because my dad stole my ID and took grant money out in my name. Luckily I had a scholarship for a while, but it was only partial at a very expensive school. I cried my eyes out in the office and on the way to the bus and all the way home and then to sleep! Then I woke up went to the blood bank to sell my blood, sold everything I owned except the body (minus blood) and went to work. My boss (bless his heart) lent me money for some books (you know how expensive they are) and my friend let me live on her couch for 2 months. Then I graduated. Sucko. I feel ya!
